Working under general supervision, the Medical Technologist coordinates the activities in the laboratory so that patient testing is performed and reported. Associate monitors and maintains equipment and supplies needed for accurate testing. Specific, detailed procedures exist for most aspects of the job, however; some duties have general procedures. Associate remains flexible to changing systems, is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice, and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. The job duties create periodic opportunities to develop innovative ideas.
