Patient Check-I Responsible for patient check-in, greeting everyone in a
pleasant and professional manner. Track patients in the reception area and communicate
with them, as needed. Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been
received, completed, and signatures obtained.
Scan patient's insurance card into computer.
Ensure that proper authorization or referral is collected
from the patient. Assist patients in obtaining authorization or referrals that
have not been received by the practice.
Enter all new patient demographic information into the
computer. Update all establish patient demographic information in
the computer. Put charts in bin for specific physician or technician.
Patient Check-Out Check-out all patients.
Review fee sheets for correct charges and diagnosis marked; enter information into
computer. Ensure patients understand their condition and treatment;
provide any special instructions to patients upon leaving.
Be sure the patient understands the doctor's instructions.
Check that patients have been given appropriate
prescriptions. Schedule return appointments for follow-up, as
necessary. Schedule patients for transfer of care and any required
diagnostic testing. Explain all fees and patient financial responsibility.
Verify patient insurance and address information.
Secure all necessary patient signatures; obtain proper
informed consent and insurance authorization.
Collect fee for services. Administrative
Provide back-up support on telephones.
Inspect reception room for neatness. Assist other front office personnel, as needed.
Perform other duties, as required.
Previous Medical Office experience preferred.
