Patient Appointment Coordinator
Department: SAT RAD Scheduling
Performs a variety of duties associated with the scheduling and coordination of patient procedures. Responsibilities include scheduling outpatient and select inpatient procedures, via telephone and fax for multiple medical imaging departments including, but not limited to vascular laboratory, CT, MRI, diagnostic radiology, comprehensive breast center, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and special procedures. Completes appropriate clerical duties associated with scheduling and registration. Assists with the coordination of obtaining physician orders and patient insurance information.
High school diploma or equivalent, computer skills (STAR, Microsoft Office), typing skills (40 wpm), excellent communication skills (oral and writing), and excellent customer service skills. Prefer medical business office experience and completion of medical terminology course.
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS
