Washington County, Tennessee Accounting Supervisor
Washington County Government is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounting Supervisor.
This is a highly professional and responsible financial and administrative position which performs intermediate technical accounting functions necessary in maintaining the fiscal records and
systems of the County in accordance with general accepted accounting principles and applicable governmental accounting standards and supervises assigned staff.
The position reports directly to the Director of Accounts and Budget.
The Accounting Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, cash disbursements and payroll, maintaining fixed asset records, preparation of monthly account reconciliations, preparation of grant reporting documents and invoices, preparation of monthly financial statements, assisting with annual budget preparation and other duties as assigned by the Director of Accounts and Budget.
Successful applicants will possess: the analytical skills needed to solve complex operational issues, proven ability to lead others and motivate staff, ability to interact with employees, management and elected officials, excellent oral communication skills and the ability to prepare and present reports, at least 5 years of governmental accounting experience, and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration. A master's Degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Municipal Finance Officer and/or Certified Government Financial Manager certification is preferred.
Starting Salary: $48,000 to $60,000 per year (compensation commensurate with experience)
