This position is that of a WG-2805-10 Electrician serving in the Engineering Service Maintenance Unit A or B, Mountain Home VA Healthcare System, Mountain Home, Tennessee and all affiliated outpatient clinics in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, or West Virginia here after referred to as Mountain Home VA Healthcare System. Incumbent performs a variety of maintenance and new construction tasks involved in maintaining station buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities for Mountain Home VA Healthcare System, and its subordinate outlying facilities. The position includes responsibilities for electrical power distribution systems and equipment as well as electronic equipment. Incumbent is responsible to perform a variety of work on various crews and tasks in addition to those specified here in.
Electrician Duties: Incumbent is responsible to conduct electrical work on buildings, electrical distribution systems, underground utilities including High Voltage and Medium Voltage systems and back up emergency generators. Typical work assignments include the performance of visual examinations, inspections, technical research, and operational test to determine the need for, and the performance of, installing, modifying, overhauling, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems on all level of difficulty and responsibility requiring skill, knowledge, and experience predominately in electrical trade to perform work on equipment, switch- gear, high voltage power lines above and below ground, and all other components that comprise station electrical systems.
Electronics Duties: Incumbent is responsible to manage surveillance cameras, Physical Access Control System, nurse call systems, station radio systems, programmable controllers, intercom system, television set, station fire alarms system, electronic door operations, and other electronic components as required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The employee makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platform hydraulic lift and other hard to read places This requires Electrician to stand, stoop, bend knee, twist climb and work is tiring and uncomfortable positions for long periods of time. Electrician frequently lift and carry tools equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds and less often up to 40 pounds Occasionally they lift or movie with assistance heavy objects over 200 pound.

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire.
