Licensed PT Assistant
Department: IP Physical Therapy
Schedule: Full Time
Hours: M-F occassional weekends
The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant(LPTA) implements physical therapy modalities/exercises etc. after the Physical Therapist has completed an evaluation and prescribed a treatment program, with physician approval. The LPTA further adjusts the program within constraints and confers with the team members. He/she documents treatment, progress, and makes suggestions toward further treatment. He/She adapts treatment program to patient ability and current status. Critical thinking skills and decision making are a must. Poises self as a partner in the healthcare delivery for patients.
Graduate of an accredited P.T.A. school with current and valid license. Current and valid LPTA license required.
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS.
