- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary department and its programs and activities. Also coordinating with other facility departments to meet resident needs. Develop, interpret and maintain written department policies and procedures associated with all federal, state, and local agencies as they relate to employees, residents and visitors. Keeps abreast of economic conditions/situations and standards of practice as they relate to the department. Monitor/maintain budgets associated with the department while meeting resident nutritional need. Plans and implements facility menus including therapeutic and mechanically altered diets. Ensures menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Develops individual residents meal plans as needed to meet resident need. Recruits, interviews and selects dietary personal. Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate or as directed by the manager. Develops and maintains a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
