Specialty Radiographers work under the direct supervision of the Lead Specialty Radiographer, Administrative Personnel and Radiologist. Specialty Radiographers are to be able to perform all routine examinations as necessary in the daily operational objectives of the Medical Imaging Department of Wellmont Health System as set forth by hospital guidelines and policies, the radiology medical staff and radiology administrative personnel as they relate to their area of specialty. These may include but not limited to MRI, C.T., Angiography, Ultrasound/Vascular, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography.
Successful completion of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology and /or Valid and/or updated registry/certification by the American registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) and /or other appropriate origination preferred.
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS
